Calculate your basal energy needs

I.e. approximately how many calories you need daily to maintain your weight.
However, there is great variation of energy due differences in basal metabolic rate, length, etc.

Kroppsvikt i kgMale: Age factor = 25, 24 or 20.5
female: Age factor = 23, 22,5 or 20.5
Energy factor = 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 eller 2.4
Energy needs = Age factor * body weight * Energy factor

Calories to lose weight

How much should I eat to lose weight?
The question is almost impossible to answer, since it is depeneding so much on the individual.
However, I have sometimes seen a suggested method to calculate the number of calories per day for weight loss:
current weight in pounds * 10 (or 8 or 12).
At leas it is a number to start with...

Body weight in kg:

Suggested caolyr needs (KCal)
8 times your weight in pounds10 times your weight in pounds12 times your weight in pounds
